Space Oddity
A Visual Journey Through Music and Space
This project is my personal graphic interpretation of Space Oddity, the iconic song by David Bowie. Originally used as a lullaby for my daughter Gaia, it became her first birthday gift. With this work, I not only pay tribute to the legendary White Duke, one of my favorite artists, but I also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, a historic event that took place in 1969.
The result is an interactive book for children, a universe of vibrant colors and images that dance to the rhythm of the song, following its progression page by page. Each turn of the page is a gateway to infinity, with elements to discover, open, or slide, offering a new surprise on every page. It is a journey that transforms reading into a multisensory experience, where wonder is renewed with each step.
This book is the first chapter of a broader personal project, dedicated to translating the most significant songs of my life into images. Every melody, every word finds new expression here, becoming a visual narrative capable of speaking to both the eyes and the heart.
In Space Oddity, music and imagination merge, creating a bridge between reality and dreams, between earth and space, between the present and eternity. It is an invitation to explore not only the outer universe but also the infinite space that lies within us.
