Park of Monte Bastia and Roccolo
A Journey through Nature and History
The project for the logo of the Municipal Superintendency Park of Monte Bastia and Roccolo is an ode to the natural beauty and rich history that embrace these lands. The logo is a poetic synthesis of the area's distinctive features, blending the essence of Moscato di Scanzo DOCG vineyards with the ancient chestnut forests surrounding Villa di Serio. In this symbolic design, the figure of the Chiesetta delle Tre Croci, a sacred emblem of Monte Bastia, stands tall, like a silent guardian of these lands.
At the entrance to the park, six panels welcome visitors, inviting them to explore the trails that wind through hills and forests. The central map, the pulsating heart of these panels, guides both eyes and feet, precisely indicating the paths that branch out like green veins. On the sides, the panels illustrate what awaits those who choose to venture forth: every natural beauty, every breathtaking view is highlighted with a number that corresponds to the map, serving as an invitation not to miss any of the park's offerings. Each description, carefully presented in both Italian and English, pays homage to the richness of these places, complemented by information on average trail durations, restrictions, and the symbols of the municipalities that have collectively brought this project to life.
Along the trails, six educational panels emerge like stations on a pilgrimage of knowledge, strategically positioned halfway through each itinerary. Here, nature reveals itself in all its variety: flora, fauna, and geology are meticulously described, with the aid of hand-drawn illustrations created with a graphic tablet. These drawings depict delicate flowers, leaves dancing in the wind, and animals that quietly inhabit these areas. Each illustration is a fragment of life, a tribute to the earth and its ability to tell ancient stories through its intricate details.
